Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting

So after stuffing our faces all day on Thanksgiving, we played a game that helped us work off some of the food we consumed.  My sister in law, Susan, introduced us all to The Ninja Game.  Seriously people, IT IS HILARIOUS. We played this for over an hour and it never got old.  How do you play, you ask? Well here are the rules-

Everyone stands in a circle.  The Sensei asks, “Ninjas ready?”, and then all ninjas bow and say, “yes, Sensei.”

Then everyone strikes a ninja pose.  Keep in mind that every time you make a move, you must accompany it with a ninja sound effect. Starting with the Sensei you jump into a new ninja pose with the goal of hitting a ninja next to you on the hand.  When you move to hit them, they can counter your move with a ninja pose of their own, all while you are both making really crazy ninja noises like HIIIIYYYYYYAAAAAAA! If you don’t make contact with their hand, the turn moves to the next ninja.  If you do hit their hand, they are out.  Your turn gives you only ONE move and then you are frozen in that pose until your next turn or to avoid a strike by another ninja. The last ninja standing is the new Sensei.

I cannot tell you how stinking fun this game is.  Thanks for teaching it to us, Susan. Now sit back while I show you some sweet ninja action, and I dare you not to think about the song, Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting!

Wimpy

Ok here is one more video to laugh at.  My attempt at a push up.  In my defense I was SO SORE from working out my chest, back and shoulders that I couldn’t even finish one push up. Sad.

Why I was not meant to be a Bobble Head

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!  I was loading Kelsey’s video and found this one. I forgot I had this.  It’s from 3 years ago when my boss, Jenalee and I attended the Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism.  As you can see I have a hard time staying attached to my body.  I just bobble all over the place.  Enjoy a good laugh at my expense.

Not really sure why my son was wearing his dad’s t-shirt, his sister’s tutu and nothing else?

An unfortunate fire incident, birthday lunch, spastic crash and burn, choir concert and hot date….just a few highlights from my week.

Let’s review.

SUNDAY & MONDAY-

Home sick. :(

TUESDAY-

Labor Day Weekend 2009 055

Spent the evening with Kylie, homeschooling.  We got most of our books and started on spelling and Idaho history.  I am amazed at how bright my daughter is.  It was nice to sit with her and work together.  I am looking forward to homeschooling her and getting to know her better in a different way.

After a long day, Kenny ran me a bath with rose petal bubble bath and candles.  The water was the perfect temperature.  I closed my eyes, leaned my head back and sighed as I sank into the sudsy water.  As I soaked a thought came into my head. **Huh.  What’s that strange crackling noise?**  About the time it registered, the smell hit me.  I sat up in a rush.  “Kenny, is my hair on fire?!!!”  Kenny looked at me and in a very unconcerned tone said, “Ya .”  You would think he would yell something to the effect of, “HOLY CRAP YOUR HAIR IS ON FIRE!”, but no.  I spastically started flipping water on my hair.  “Is it out?”   My darling husband replied, “nope.”  He then scooped up a huge handful of water and doused me and the fire.   I asked again, “Is it out?”  My husband replied, “Ya.  The flames were like 3 inches high.”  I wasn’t sure how bad my hair was but I had a hair appointment scheduled for Friday.  I just figured I might have to cut it short again.  Luckily when I washed my hair and dried it, the damage was minimal.  It only singed the ends of a small portion of hair.  Note to self: be aware of burning candles.

WEDNESDAY-

Caution-Falling-Signs-573019[1]

February 3rd is my mom’s birthday (see separate post).  I took my mom to lunch at Costa Vida.  The restaurant was packed for the lunch hour.  We set our food down and I headed across the restaurant to get our forks and napkins.  As I took a step forward, I landed on my heel weird and my leg went flying out from under me.  I tried to over correct and catch myself but had too much momentum.  I tried to stop the fall but in my head I knew…. **I am going down and it isn’t going to be pretty!**  This wasn’t a quick fall.  I was about 7 feet away from the window I eventually ran into.  I flailed my arms and legs as I propelled forward trying to stop the inevitable.  As the window loomed closer I went down on one knee and reached out to catch myself.  One hand slammed the wet floor sign into the window.  When the sign collapsed together the loud clap it made echoed through the restaurant.  **Oh crap! Now EVERYONE is going to look at me sprawled out on the floor** My other hand didn’t stop me as I cracked my head against the frame of the window and smashed my face on the glass.  I seriously felt my brain rattle around in my head when I hit.  It hurt.  But all I cared about was the 30+ people I KNEW were  staring at me.  **PLEAE, oh PLEASE, do not let all the employees come rushing over.**  I pulled myself into an upright position, squared my shoulders and slowly looked over my shoulder to the right where the employees were working.  To my surprise they were carrying on as usual. **AWESOME!! They didn’t notice!**  I slowly turned to the left and looked over my shoulder to the entire restaurant.  No one was looking at me…..except two hot men that looked like models.  Of course.  **How in the world did nobody HEAR THAT!?**  The men stared at me with startled expressions, the corner of their mouths twitching as they tried to suppress their smiles.  I walked back to my table and asked my mom to survey the damage.  I hit my head so hard I thought I had cracked it open.  Alas, no worries.  I was fine.   I do think I gave myself a mild concussion though.

I always think it is hilarious when people fall, so after I figured I would never see the two people that witnessed the embarrassing incident again,(knock on wood) I laughed about it.  In fact I would love to see if Costa Vida has a video of the fall.  That would be entertaining.

THURSDAY-

Kelsey was one of 11 alto singers chosen from her school to sing in the Honor Choir.   They took kids from each of the Junior High Schools.  The girls did such a good job and sounded so beautiful.

The Pocatello Chamber of Commerce holds an annual fundraiser, February Fantasy.  This year the event was held at my hotel and Kenny’s work, Robert Allen Auto Group, sponsored the event. Of course, we both attended.  I had a wonderful evening with my husband and friends.  My husband is SO wonderful about taking pictures with me, as you will see below.
