We love Star Wars around our house. Especially Kaiden. We had talked about Kaiden getting to fight Darth Vader for weeks before we went to Disney Land. We thought you paid for the kids to do this, but realized when we got to the park that they randomly choose kids out of the audience. YIKES! We had to make sure it happened because we had talked it up so much. The second morning we arrived at the park early. We waited on Main Street until the park opened and then made a bee line for Tomorrow Land. We were the first ones to get to the pavilion.
Kenny waited with Kaiden down on the front line while we got a good spot for taking pictures. Kaiden wore his Star Wars shirt in hopes it would help him get picked. While we waited, Kylie the bird whisperer, entertained all the little chickadees.
Finally the show began. The Jedi Masters came out and demonstrated their impressive light saber skills.
The Jedi Master called on Kaiden as “the kid in the Star Wars shirt”. So it DID help.
They were given a robe and light saber and then the Jedi taught them a fight sequence that they practiced over and over in preparation for their battle with Darth Vader and Darth Maul.
In the middle of the lesson, Kaiden became quite concerned with putting his hood on. He wrestled with it for a minute before this guy came to help him get it on.
After their practice was complete, the bad guys arrived on the scene. And I just have to say…. they were scary! Darth Vader was TALL! and Darth Maul was really intimidating. I think they were both over 6 feet.
One by one the little padawan’s stepped up to face their enemy. Here is Kaiden getting a pep talk right before his turn.
Seriously, look at how tall Darth Vader is…..Kaiden looks tiny! He faced Vader bravely. Of all the kids up there, Kaiden was fighting the hardest. He was whacking his light saber so hard I thought it was going to break. He meant business.
Okay, pause right here. Look at this picture. It is so hilarious. He has his light saber back ready to release the death blow and his face is so serious. I love it so I had to zoom in. Ha ha ha. So funny!
After each battle was complete, the bad guys came after the padawans, trying to get them to join the dark side. Don’t worry, the Jedi protected them.
After scaring away the evil siths, the padawan’s took their place on stage to take the Jedi oath.
After completing their Jedi oath, all the young Jedi in training turned around to show their parents. Except my little Jedi. He stood with his back to the crowd the whole time.
We LOVED this. For anyone who is a Star Wars fan, this is a must.
